All Terrain Vehicles

We no longer sell ATV's, although we do carry the Hammerhead all-terrain dune buggy style kart, which many people are buying instead of an ATV:

This decision came after reading about so many people who put their children on ATV's that were larger than approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).  While there is a certain amount of danger associated with any motorized vehicle, the risk increases tremendously when age recommendations are not followed:

50cc:  6 years old

51cc - 90cc:  12 years old

91cc and higher:  16 years old

According to the CPSC, in 2001, about a third of all ATV injuries requiring emergency room care were for victims under 16 years old.  That same year, ATV injuries resulted in an estimated 634 deaths.

Another CPSC study showed that almost half of the 1,186 deaths and the estimated 400,000 emergency room treated injuries occurred to children who rode adult-sized ATVs.

While injuries can occur doing anything -- including riding go-karts -- we feel the cages and seat belts of the go-karts make them a safer option for having fun.
